For all those that just stepped on the Javier bandwagon, your late. This man defined a very important time in my life. When his first album came out I was floored and couldn't understand why he had not got the air play he deserved. I mean with songs like "Crazy", "Song For Your Tear's", "If I Never Get To Heaven", "October Sky", "Can't Have My Heart". and the song I sang to my wife at our wedding "In Your Hands". I have yet to figure out what Capital was thinking when they didn't promote this album. His second was also well done with songs like "The Answer Is Yes", "Poetry", "Indecent Proposal", "ways I'm Feeling You", "Can I talk To You", and the ever so tender "Lovin U". I have been a fan from the beginning. His acoustic set has one beautiful piece on it that any father would just cry as you hear what he says throughout the story he weaves, and that song is "My Little Girl". Now as I have listened to this new music I have to admit it was a little to manufactured for me and for a vocalist of his stature. But when you break it down and listen to the way he delivers his notes you come to love the entire package. Now I have to admit I kinda skimmed through the tracks until one song caught my ear and although at towards the end of the album, I can't get past it. That would be the story he preaches on "Ok, Here's The Truth". As he starts you think that he is at a crossroad in his relationship. But as the story progresses you start to understand what is going on. As the last verse is delivered you almost feel the frustration and sadness as he realizes that his wife is dying. I couldn't believe how well this young man let it built until you were left almost gasping for air. The only other the I have seen or heard that made me feel this way, was when I saw the Antione Fischer story. Just imagine how well the story was told and then to have his dream fulfilled it truly was amazing as is this track. I am not a music critic but I know what moves me. As a singer not professional I can appreciate what is not expected and that is what we have in Mr. Colon. Well don and keep inspiring us singers and lovers of good music. I hope I get the chance to convey that you in person one of these days. Until then keep making us feel the notes as only you can.
